About Me

This is me, with my Pete. This photo was taken by the talented Dominique Bader.

For the past few years now I have loved sewing and making gifts for friends and family.

About Me
I live in Yorkshire with my husband Pete and baby boy Jesse. In my spare time, when I’m not at work, or looking after my baby, I make hand-made items for weddings, babies, homes, or gifts – pretty much anything people ask me to make!

How it all began…
After Pete asked me to marry him in July 2010, it was then I started making things for us, for our wedding – whilst still making the odd patchwork panda, purse, oven gloves and various other bits and bobs of course!
Knowing how we didn’t want the wedding was the easy part, the only things we knew for certain was that we wanted everyone to have lots of fun, and that it was totally ‘us’. And I think we pulled it off.

I spent about six months creating things for our wedding: it started with just bunting, it ended with bunting, place mats, napkins, cake topper, table clothes and runner, seating plan, place settings, table numbers, seat pad covers, cakes (and cake flags), kids party bags, gift bags, lanterns and pom poms (sure I must have forgotten something!). You can read more about how we made our wedding in my post ‘Made with Love‘.

We were married on Saturday 11th June, and it was one of the best day of my life; not just because I married the love of my life but because all the effort, worry, late nights, blisters (from scissors!) was totally worth it. The wedding was totally and utterly completely ours and we shared it with all our favourite people.

You can read a full write up, with photos from Dominique Bader, on the Rock My Wedding website (Part 1 and Part 2).

I decided to start this blog as I feel really inspired and want to make what I love doing become a bigger part of my day to day life. I want to help other crafty, or not so craft brides out there, or anyone planning a party really, learn that it is totally do-able to make your wedding, party, baby shower, whatever, your own.

I would love to help advise, answer any questions or make lovely bespoke crafty items for others so please get in touch.
